STYLE GUIDE:
 KAMBE LOVELACE

When living in the Caribbean, every outing seems like the perfect reason to throw on a pair of stylish beach shorts. From boat cruises, fetes, to house parties; a pair of beach shorts can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. Here are three different ways to style a classic pair of beach shorts now intrinsic to Caribbean style.
Shorts sponsored by Kerby Young Designs.

LOOK 1

The first look is slightly more dressed up with a slim-fit navy 100% Cotton Poplin shirt from Bershka styled below a 100% polyester red bomber jacket, also from Bershka. For kicks we have a pair of Men’s Cord Sandals from Bershka topped off with a Bucket Hat in Burgundy Velour from Asos. This look is all about layers and is perfect for a date to the movies or a setting where you want to stand out while keeping it casual and not overly dressed.

LOOK 2

The second look is absolutely casual and totally suited for a beach party, boat ride or just running Saturday errands. Kerby Young Designs’ patterned white beach pants is combined with a Men’s Racer Back vest in white and a baseball cap in navy, both from Asos. This look is finalized with the men’s cord sandals from Bershka used in the previous look. Easy to dress and undress when partying or just facing this Caribbean weather.

LOOK 3

In the last look the featured beach shorts is coupled with Muscle Long-Sleeve Turtle Neck T-shirt in black from Asos, finished with a pair of black suede Timberland boots. This look is a little more out of the box as a black turtle neck top is not normally a go-to when living in the Caribbean. However, the cotton and elastane material makes this turtle neck t-shirt breathable and the muscles cut matched with the high neck-line helps to add a sleekness to this very casual pair of shorts.

In sum, an item that is a staple in your closet can be styled in many different ways and one should not be afraid of that. Step outside the box, add different colors, layers and materials (within reason of course). Don’t be afraid to take a risk and try new and exciting silhouettes because dressing your body shouldn’t be as mundane as working and eight to four you don’t very much care for.
