SHE COOKS WITH PASSION!
 SARAH CALLENDER

Production by Terrance  MakeUp by Kerby Young

Sweet! Will definitely be the word to describe any meal made by Sarah Callender’s hand! Armed with a passion for flavor and a natural gift for cooking, Sarah has definitely put a huge smile on her client’s face and a delicious meal in their tummies! Today at our studio however, it would be our team smiling as wide as we can; as she would fill our plates with a delicious Sunday lunch! Carrying herself with great confidence and yet vast warmth and openness. It’s easy to see that cooking has definitely become a way of life for her. She shares that from an early age, she was glued to her Step Mother’s side; learning her ways and signature style of cooking.

Like every journey however, Sarah’s early start came with its reasons. Together with her sisters and step-mother they used cooking meals and snacks to pay their bills. Cooking and baking to sell around their schools to cover schooling cost, bills, traveling and their meals. It is during this practice that she truly learned to grind for her buck.
“I started in my early teenage years. I assisted my step mother in the kitchen, making pies, khurma and a host of other stuff for my sisters and I to sell at school. Growing up poor was not an excuse to not get an education; and though cooking helped pay the bills, I also developed a keen interest in it!”

Sarah also attests that cooking has come to her rescue multiple times throughout her life. It’s used as a form of therapy, fueling her creativity and allowing her the freedom to escape her usual scheduled days. Her gift has also become her favorite past-time and opportunity for extra earnings.
“It’s integral to find avenues where my craft can make me additional cash apart from my day-today job. My two sons, who are now in secondary school; when they were both in primary school, I saw an opportunity to take orders from their school teachers and prepare lunches for them. This avenue has helped me a lot and it also consisted of my sons helping me in every way possible. I must also boldly confess that they are my biggest support and inspiration in everything I do” She gushes.

Keeping her eyes on the prize, her next target would be the culinary industry. Sarah intends to penetrate the industry and make her mark. With goals to create her own restaurant or franchise, her sites are not just regional but global; taking her love and spin on other cultural style meals to the world. There’s clearly no stopping this trailblazer. With a dash of confidence and sprinkle of courage, she’s definitely a force to be reckoned with.

TVISUAL Beauty Director Lynda De La Mothe Shot by Terrance

TVISUAL makeup extraordinaire, Lynda Del La Mothe, gives a tutorial on her very bronzed look. Having been busy creating makeup looks for TVISUAL x the Cloth to the Harvey Robertson’ 18 campaign, she still manages to keep her glow radiant. Follow below to GET THE LOOK!

First start by applying @sachacosmetics Mattifier Face Primer to the T-zone area. Then fill in eyebrows with @sachacosmetics Matte Brown powder blush. Clean up under brows and prime eyelids with @lagirlscosmetics Pure Beige pro conceal and over brows with skin shade foundation. Apply a deep orange eyeshadow in the crease of your eyelids as a transition shade. Followed by a dark brown shadow to the outer 1/3 of eyelid and blend into the transition shade. On the inner 2/3 apply cream eyeshadow and blend into the dark brown. Apply a shimmering shadow to the brow bone to highlight it. Line top and bottom lash line with black eyeliner. On the bottom lash line, apply some of the dark brown shadow to the outer 2/3 and the shadow used in the brow bone to the inner 1/3. Apply your favorite mascara.

On the face, apply your skin tone foundation (mine @l’orealmakeup True Match foundation in Caramel Beige) and highlight the under eyes, bridge of the nose and forehead with a concealer that is 1-2 shades lighter than your skin tone (@lagirlscosmetics Pro Conceal in Pure Beige & Natural). Set the highlighted area with @sachacosmetics Buttercup Setting powder. To carve out the contour, apply @rubykissescosmetics Pute Mineral Concealer in the shade Caramel to the hollows of the cheek and blend upwards. Set with @nyxcosmetics contour powder in Sculpt. Apply @lacolorscosmetics blush in Chai to the apples of the cheek and blend outward. Highlight the high points of the cheekbones with @l’orealmakeup shimmer highlighter in Kiss.

For lips, use a brown lipliner and line the outside of the lips. Then fill in with @milanicosmetics 04 All Natural lip liner. Apply @jordana_cosmetics over top.

Spritz face with @maccosmetics Fix+ finishing mist and the look is complete.

BONUS!
As seen in top image;

Apply orange transition shadow to the crease of the eyelids. Then a black shadow to the outer 1/3 of the eyelid. Taking the same blending brush used to apply the transition shade, dip back into it and blend the black into the transition colour just below the crease. Make sure to buff out any harsh lines. Using @ambrosiacosmeticstt loose glitters, apply gold glitter to the inner 1/3 and bronze to the middle of the eyelids. Take the brush used to apply the black shadow and blend the black into the glitter. Line the bottom lash line with @l’orealmakeup Infallible Gel liner and run the black pigment along the lower lash line. Taking a gold pigment, highlight the inner corners of the eye. Apply falsies and mascara and the look is finished
